Avant Garden is a Finnish alternative rock band formed in Helsinki, Finland in 2013 and currently based in Central Finland.[1][2] Their sound is heavily influenced by the Palm Desert Scene, as well as alternative rock, indie rock and psychedelic rock music. Their debut EP, The Amazing Adventures Of Space Cadet was released on November 14, 2015.[3]
Background
The band was formed after a Queens of the Stone Age concert in summer 2013[4] by members Jaakko Inkinen, Teemu Kaipomäki and Ville Hardén, who originally met during a gap year in a music institute in 2009.[5] The trio wrote and recorded their first EP "The Amazing Adventures Of Space Cadet" between 2013 and 2015 and released it a day after their first live performance on November 14, 2015. In summer 2016, the band played in 6 cities across Finland during a 48-hour period known as "The 48 Hour Road Trip".[6] Later that year, the band announced a self-titled debut album to be released in 2017.[7][8]
