Avel Flight School

Avel Flight School is an FAA approved flight school[1] based at DuPage Airport,[2] West Chicago, Illinois. It was originally based at Schaumburg Regional Airport and later took over the building previously occupied by American Flyers Flight School[citation needed]

This flight school was founded in 2012 and incorporated in the state of Illinois, USA by Prashanth Elangovan, who is also the owner[3] and founding president of Avel Flight School Inc.

It is approved by the FAA under Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 141 for flight training, FAR Part 65 for Aircraft Dispatcher Certification.[4] Along with being an FAA airman knowledge testing center,[5] it is also approved by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs[6] and the U.S.Department of Homeland Security[permanent dead link] SEVIS.[7] Avel was named a Distinguished Flight School in the Midwest region by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association for two year in a row for both 2017 and 2018.[8][9] [10]
