Avinash Das (born January 14, 1976) is an Indian journalist, author, lyricist, screenwriter, and film director. He began his film career with Anaarkali of Aarah, a film about "consent and class"[1]. Under the guidance of Magsaysay Award winner Rajendra Singh, he studied the water revolution around Arawalli, the subject of his five books [5]. He later became Feature Editor at Prabhat Khabar and Resident Editor of Patna and Deoghar editions. He then moved to Mumbai for film-making. His debut movie Anarkali of Arrah was released in 2017 and features Swara Bhaskar in the lead role. He has authored five books, including Mohan Shrotriya and Saras Gayi Sarsa[6].
