Avinash Das (born January 14, 1976) is an Indian journalist, author, lyricist, screenwriter, and film director. He began his film career with Anaarkali of Aarah, a film about "consent and class"[1]. He directed the Netflix show She with Arif Ali[2]. He was associated with Aamir Khan's show Satyamev Jayate and did research for The Battle of Banaras by Kamal Swaroop.

Avinash Das was born in Darbhanga, Bihar, India on January 14, 1976 [3]. He studied in Ranchi, Jharkhand[4]. He began his career as a journalist in 1996. Under the guidance of Magsaysay Award winner Rajendra Singh, he studied the water revolution around Arawalli, the subject of his five books [5]. He later became Feature Editor at Prabhat Khabar and Resident Editor of Patna and Deoghar editions. He then moved to Mumbai for film-making. His debut movie Anarkali of Arrah was released in 2017 and features Swara Bhaskar in the lead role. He has authored five books, including Mohan Shrotriya and Saras Gayi Sarsa[6].
