Ayaka Arai (Japanese: 新井彩香, Korean: 아라이 아야카: born on June 20, 2003, commonly known as Ayaka (Japanese: アヤカ, あやか, Korean: 아야카) is a japanese singer and dancer in the all japanese girl group NiziU under formed by J.Y.Park through the audition show Nizi Project..[1] Ayaka debuted on december 2nd[2]

Early life[edit]

Ayaka was born in Tokyo, Japan on 20 June 2003.[3] Before auditioning she was playing tennis[4] and taking dancing classes as her hobbies[5]

2020 - Present: Nizi Project and NiziU[edit]

Nizi Project[edit]

Ayaka was revealed as a contestant on Nizi Project on it's 4th episode. She ranked 18th in the vocal test[6] and 16th[7] for dancing made her end up in a final spot of 14th[8] in the final of season 1 after the "Star quality" test where she showed her tennis skills and a showcase mission where she performed 2PM's "Again and again"[9].

Season 2 of Nizi Project started with a battle of solo stages where Ayaka performed "Precious love" by Twice, and managed to rank 9th and gain her first cube of the season. Later on there was two team battles where she performed "Very Very Very" by "I.O.I"[10]and "Hearbeat"[11] by 2PM. On the final episode the full lineup of the upcoming girl group "NiziU" was announced with Ayaka finishing in 8th place.

Pre-debut and returning to Japan[edit]

On June 30, 2020 NiziU released their pre-debut music video for the song "Make you happy"[12]. In September, 2020 NiziU returned to Japan to start their TV Promotions.[13]

On December 2nd, 2020 NiziU released their debut single "Step and a step"
