Ayesha Chundrigar (Urdu: عائشہ چندریگر‎) is a Pakistani Animal rights activist, entrepreneur, journalist. She is founder of the Ayesha Chundrigar Foundation, a non profit animal rescue organization based in Karachi, Pakistan.[1][2][3][4]

Early life

Chundrigar was born on 30 September 1987. She graduated in 2009 with a degree in English Literature and Cinema Studies from College of Arts & Science of the New York University. She is a licensed psychotherapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. She won Green Innovation Challenge organized by WWF- Pakistan.[5][6][7]

Career

Chundrigar headed a refugee camp of 700 displaced people in Islamabad after the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan.[8]
She founded Ayesha Chundrigar Foundation in 2013 in Karachi.[9][10] ACF began rescue ambulance service [clarification needed] and have an active rescue helpline.[clarification needed][11] At this time the shelter has 500 animals of all kinds and it is Pakistan's first animal shelter. ACF consists of seven core members and few volunteers.[12]
This organization started the first ever animal shelter for street and homeless dogs , cats & different animals in Pakistan.[13][14][15][16][17][18]
