Ayman Raouf Baky or Ayman Baky born September 2nd, 1974, is an Egyptian entrepreneur, CEO & Founder of Baky Hospitality Group Ltd.

Early Life:[edit]

Baky was born and raised until he was 6 years old in Sunderland, England where he attended kindergarten. He then left to Kuwait with his family and attended New English School in Kuwait up until the Iraqi-Kuwaiti war in 1990. After the war, at the age of 16, he completed his IGCSE in Manor House school in Cairo, Egypt. Later he graduated from the American University in Cairo with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication and a minor degree in Economics in 1996.

Pre Baky Hospitality Group[edit]

Ayman worked as a Marketing Executive in Orascom Projects & Touristic Development “El Gouna” for 5 years and got promoted to Sponsorship and Events Manager for El Gouna, the Red Sea in 2000. Alongside his main job, Baky was an event organizer with his friends launching events and concerts hosting international DJs and artists such as Sonique, Tall Paul, Gatecrasher, and others; during his first event, he was able to attract around 400 attendees and later he hosted events with more than 3,000 guests. In 2001, he got headhunted by Sony Music International who was opening its first office in the Middle East region and was the Marketing Manager for Sony Music. He stayed in this potion for 2 years until he felt it was time to leave and start his first restaurant, White in Zamalek in 2003. One year later he left White and became managing partner for L’Aubergine restaurant and bar in Zamalek for 5 years. Alongside being a managing partner in L’Aubergine, he was able to manage the Latex nightclub at the Hilton Hotel 2003. In 2005, Virgin Megastore Middle East contacted Baky for a Marketing Director position to handle Egypt’s first Virgin Megastore outlet at City Stars, he took on the job for 2 years whilst managing L’Aubergine and Playa restaurant and club in Alexandria.[1]

For most of his career, he opened and managed a variety of venues such as White Agamy, Alexandria 2004, he was the managing partner of Playa Agamy, Alexandria 2005. The turning point of his career was in 2009 when he joined the Tamarai management and became a managing partner until 2013.

Baky Hospitality Group[edit]

In 2013, at the age 38, Baky set up Baky Hospitality on his own, and opened his first restaurant, Sachi restaurant in Heliopolis, Korba in June 2014; a Mediterranean Fusion restaurant and bar. Baky’s other restaurants and bars include Kazoku Egypt, 2015, the first contemporary Japanese concept in Egypt inspired by his visits to Zuma and Nobu around the world. Sachi By The Sea, 2016, located at Hacienda and designed by Alchemy Studio, a lifestyle concept right on the Mediterranean shores. Shinko Cairo, 2018, a cozy cocktail bar designed by KH Studio in Swanlake Compound. Lexie’s, 2018, a modern Italian restaurant at Lakeview, New Cairo. Sachi Park St in Sheikh Zayed 2021[3], an upscale restaurant also designed by Alchemy Studio. By the end of 2021, Reif Othman joined forces with Baky bringing Reif Kushiyaki[4]; a contemporary Japanese Street Food to Cairo at 5A by the Waterway, designed by Rey De Castro Studio Barcelona. And the journey continues as Baky is planning to open various restaurants and bars through 2022, along with his massive plan for 2023 which will feature a Baky Catering division with a whole new concept and Baky Hotels kicking off with a boutique hotel in Swanlake, Giza.[5][6][7][8]
