Ayuda Efectiva is a Spanish nonprofit organisation based on the principles of effective altruism. Through its Global Health Fund, it enables donors in Spain to support cost-effective global health charities.[1][2][3][4]
Ayuda Efectiva was founded in June 2020 in Madrid. To identify cost-effective interventions,[1][5] the foundation relies on research from other organisations such as GiveWell.[2][6] Ayuda Efectiva also works to enable tax-deductible donations to these organisations for Spanish donors, even if the recipient organisation is not based in Spain.[1]
Activities[edit]
Ayuda Efectiva operates the Global Health Fund (Spanish: Fondo Salud Global), which enables donors based in Spain to finance global health programmes that it has deemed cost-effective. Money donated to the fund is distributed to the following programmes:[4]
- Against Malaria Foundation
- Malaria Consortium
- Deworm the World
- SCI Foundation
- Helen Keller International
It currently prioritises malaria, parasitic worms, and vitamin A deficiency,[7] based on the criteria of importance, tractability, and neglectedness.[8][improper synthesis?]
