Ayyappa P. Sharma (born 22 January 1969) is an Indian film actor and director known for his work primarily in South Indian cinema. His notable film appearances include KGF: Chapter 1, KGF: Chapter 2 and Bimbisara[3]
Early and personal life
Ayyappa P. Sharma was born in Tamil Nadu, India, into a family with a background in the film industry. He is the youngest son of veteran actor P. J. Sarma and Krishna Jyothi. He has two brothers P. Sai Kumar and P. Ravi Shankar[4]and two sisters Priya Karthikeyan and Kamala Narayan.
Career
Ayyappa P. Sharma began his career as a writer and director, with his directorial debut Aayudha in 1996[5]. He went on to produce and direct the Telugu film Eshwar Alla in 1998,[6] which won the Andhra Pradesh State Nandi Award for Sarojini Devi Award for a Film on National Integration. In 2013, his film Varadanayaka earned music director Arjun Janya the Best Male Playback Singer award at the 3rd South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) for the song "Baite.. Baite..".[7] Actor P. Ravi Shankar and Arjun Janya were also nominated in their respective categories for the same film. Ayyappa began his acting career in 2014 with the lead role of ACP Ganesh in the Kannada action-thriller Gharshane. He gained wider recognition for his performances in KGF: Chapter 1, KGF: Chapter 2, and Bimbisara.[8] His recent films include Hari Hara Veera Mallu, in which he plays Abdullah, Kingdom as Bhairaghi, and Coolie as Ayyappan.
