Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Football Club, simply known as Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu, is a professional football club, based in Bà Rịa, Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu, Vietnam, that plays in the V.League 2, the second tier of Vietnamese football. [1] [2]

The team formed in 1991 played in the A2 division but then the football movement went down and interrupted the 1997-2006 period.
2000s and disbanded[edit]
In 2006, the 2006-2009 football project was approved and implemented by the provincial People's Committee with the goal of training young people, creating forces and reserve teams of higher levels. At that time, the provincial soccer team was formed, and played in the national third division. Despite many difficulties, the provincial football team has received the attention and encouragement of the people and fans in the province. Through the competition organization, the U15 football team was formed, went into training and trained under a 4-year program (2006-2009). The team is focused on professional training and cultural learning in Ba Ria town. Due to the lack of human resources, the selection of athletes from the movements is spontaneous, not systematic, so in the process of training, rubbing, the training team continues to screen out typical athletes. for the youth level, the recruitment line for practice and competition.
In 2007, the Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu ranked first in Group D qualifying, entered the national second class competition in Da Nang but failed. In 2008, the team was sponsored by the Construction Investment and Development Corporation (DIC Group) and changed its name to DIC Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu football team, however, this year the team did not meet the target. In 2009, DIC Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu performed excellently in the qualifying round, won all five matches, topped Group C, representing the final round. With the result of winning the youth team of Dong Thap Rubber Group, the team has completed the goal of the Project to be ranked second in the country.
In 2010, for the first time, DIC Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu participated in the national second class football tournament. Despite facing many difficulties, sometimes seemingly unable to relegate, in the end DIC Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu successfully relegated.
On November 14, 2012, coach Nguyen Trung Hau of Ba Ria - Vung Tau announced that the DIC Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu had disbanded and did not attend the First Division 2013.
Re-establish and aim for higher goals[edit]
On September 15, 2017, Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu officially launched to start playing in the National Third Division 2017. On this occasion, Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu Joint Stock Company was also established thanks to charter capital of 200 billion VND with the goal of long-term development, bringing football city by the sea step by step to professionalism. The club started the 2017 National Third Division Football, quickly gaining promotion to the 2018 National Second Division Football Championship with the championship in Group B.
In the 2018 national second division football, the club excelled at the end of the group stage with first place in Group B, eligible for the promotion play-off round. In the semi-finals, the team was suddenly eliminated by Phu Dong FC with a score of 2-3 on the penalty spot (draw 0-0 after the official time of the match. 2020 V.League 2[edit]
On August 16, 2019, Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu entered the final of the national second division of the 2019 football tournament as the winner of the semi-final match (3-1 against Lam Dong). In the final, the team defeated Hanoi Youth 1-0 and officially won tickets to directly participate in the 2020 V.League 2.
For the first time in the club's history, Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu was allowed to participate in a domestic professional tournament.
