Braelyn Simone, known professionally as B. Simone (born April 5, 1990), is an American actress, comedian, entrepreneur, musician, and social media personality. She rose to prominence in 2017 when she joined the cast of the sketch comedy show Wild 'n Out.
Career[edit]
Simone was born in Dallas, Texas.[1][2] She started performing at a young age and joined a girl group as a teenager.[3] She moved to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue her entertainment career. Simone gained popularity in 2017 after being cast in Wild 'n Out.[3]
In 2020, Simone opened for Martin Lawrence on the "Lit AF Comedy Tour" and started her own tour, the "Still Standing Tour", in May 2024.[4] She has amassed over six million followers on Instagram.[5]
Business ventures[edit]
Simone launched "B. Simone Beauty", a vegan and cruelty-free beauty brand, in 2019.[6] In 2021, she collaborated with Footaction to release the "Faith Over Fear" clothing collection.[7]
Plagiarism controversy[edit]
In March 2020, Simone released a self-help book titled Baby Girl: Manifest the Life You Want. In June 2020, she was accused of plagiarism, with several instances of copied content from other sources. Simone apologized and blamed the incident on a writing assistant. Sales of her book were paused due to the controversy.[8]
