BATTLEFIELD (2025) is an upcoming first-person shooter, developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts. The thirteenth main installment in the Battlefield series, it was teased in February 3rd, 2025 in a presentation of BATTLEFIELD LABS. Game will have a multiplayer along with single-player campaign unlike previous Battlefield 2042.

Synopsis

Battlefield (2025) takes place in 2027, where an unnamed enemy begins fighting NATO. It’s unclear if it’s an intraquel between Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 2042, or an independent universe.

Development

The game is developed by series developer DICE in Sweden, with Ripple Effect Studios, Motive Studio, and Criterion Games assisting development. The studios have formed as they claim Battlefield Studios.^[1]

Marketing

On February 3rd, 2025, the first video about the upcoming game in the series is posted on the official Battlefield series YouTube channel named "Introducing Battlefield Labs | Battlefield Studios".^[1] In the video, what part in development takes every studio, a presentation of "Battlefield Labs" (a system where players can test the game and report in-game malfunctions), a pre-alpha gameplay where were shown a modern setting (M1 Abrams tank and soldiers in modern equipment^[1]) and levolution^[1]
