An Untitled Hogwarts Legacy sequel is in development. It is an action role-playing game developed by Avalanche Software and will be published by Warner Bros. Games under its Portkey Games label. The game, part of the Wizarding World franchise, takes place in the late 1800s, a century prior to the events chronicled in the Harry Potter novels. The player controls a student enrolled in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry who learns to wield an array of magical abilities and objects. With the assistance of fellow students and professors, the protagonist embarks on a journey to unearth an ancient secret concealed within the wizarding world.
Development[edit]
With the enormous success of Hogwarts Legacy (2023), there were speculation that it could produce a followup game. In February 2023, game director Alan Tew had said there are no plans for downloable content.[1] In April 2023, site Gamerant noticed Warner Bros. Games had a job listing for an unannounced AAA title, and speculated it could be a sequel.[2] This was interpreted as being possibly a sequel.
