Background[edit]
On January 17, 1975, BAYADA Home Health Care was established as RN Homecare, by J. Mark Baiada in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[1][2] In 1983, the name of the company was changed to BAYADA Nurses, representing the Baiada family and the family values that govern the organization.[3] In 2012, on the company's 37th anniversary, BAYADA Nurses rebranded as BAYADA Home Health Care, in order to better encompass the organization's services and team of nursing professionals.[1][4][5] At that time, they also opened an office in Hyderabad, India.[1] They also acquired NurseFinders Home Care, expanding their services with 16 locations in nine states.[5] As of 2013[update], BAYADA Home Health Care operates more than 250 offices in 25 states, as well as India.[5] The company employs more than 18,000 nurses, home health aides, therapists, medical social workers, and other health care professionals.[5]
