BBS Automation is a German manufacturer of automation and testing systems, headquartered in Garching, Bavaria, near Munich. Founded in 2013, the company has grown internationally through acquisitions and organic expansion. It employs around 2,500 people worldwide. Since 2023, it has been part of the Dürr AG "Production Automation" division.[1]
History
BBS Automation was established in 2013.[2] In 2014, BBS Automation expanded by acquiring the iximation group,[3] followed by the Italian company Kahle in 2022.[4] The Swedish investment firm EQT AB held a majority stake until 2023, when BBS Automation was acquired by Dürr.[5][1]
In June 2025, Dürr merged its "Production Automation" companies under the brand BBS Automation.[6]
