BFF.fm (Best Frequencies Forever) is a nonprofit community internet radio station, supported by donations from listeners. The station was started by Amanda Guest in 2013 and originally broadcasted out the Secret Alley, a private community art space in the Mission District of San Francisco.[1] In October of 2020, the station moved its operations to the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero.[2] The station is supported by community funding.

BFF.fm was founded by Amanda Hunt and first started broadcasting on August 2, 2013. The station was started when Hunt toured the Secret Alley space, and realized its potential for hosting a radio booth. BFF.fm also hosts community events and scavenger hunts, including a scavenger hunt around San Francisco featuring music venues and historic locations. [3] It has won "Best Radio Station" from SF Weekly in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016. 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Programming[edit]
The station is staffed by 115 volunteer DJs based primarily in the bay area. Continuous broadcast occurs 24/7, with scheduled programming from 8am to midnight, 7 days a week. The station places an emphasis on local and emerging music from the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as podcasts and talk shows that center on the bay area. [4]
