BIMCO (congress)

The Bukovinian International Medical Congress (BIMCO) is a large annual conference for medical and pharmaceutical students and young scientists which takes place on the basis of Higher state educational establishment of Ukraine «Bukovinian State Medical University». BIMCO offers the opportunity for medical students to present their research and creative achievements, to participate in various workshops and master classes, to build up relations with other medical students from all over the world and to get an unforgettable experience during their stay in Chernivtsi.

Forum takes place every year in the spring (March–April).

History[edit]

Scientific forum organizes Student Scientific Society and Council of Young Scientists of Bukovinian State Medical University supported by the Rector, Professor T.M.Boychuk and the University Scientific Department led by professor O.I.Ivashchuk.

Since 2003 our Conference has passed a long way from the usual annual forum for students and young scientists of the University to the All-Ukrainian scientific students’ conference with international participation and since 2004 has acquired the international status. In 2009 the Conference for the first time was included in the Register of scientific congresses, symposia and scientific conferences approved by the Ministry of Public Health and National Academy of Medical Sciences in Ukraine.

For ten years not only geography of scientific forum expanded, but its subjects too: from a medical conference it grew in medical and pharmaceutical. The IX International Medical and Pharmaceutical Conference of students and young scientists «New Technologies in Medicine» was attended by 545 participants, including 370 young scientists of BSMU, 153 - out of medical schools, colleges, medical institutions from Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kropyvnytskyi, Kiev, Lugansk, Lutsk, Lviv, Poltava, Odessa, Simferopol, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnitsky, Cherkassy, Chertkov, and participants from Belarus, Moldova, Transnistrian Moldovan Republic, Russia, Romania, Poland and Czech Republic.

The aim of the Congress[edit]

Join students, young scientists form Ukraine and from abroad who want to share their research and creative achievements, plans and seek to new achievements in the medical and pharmaceutical fields of medicine to maintain and increase the authority of doctors and pharmacists in the community.

Publishing materials[edit]

The materials of International Medical and Pharmaceutical Conference of Students and young scientists are annually published in the Ukrainian Medical Journal of Young Scientists “Chyst”, one copy of which is given to every participant.
