The company also has satellite offices in satellite offices in Abu Dhabi, Chicago Il, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles CA, Incheon Korea and Tampa Bay FL.[2]

In late 2016, BNP Associates announced it would begin the process of moving its global headquarters to Fairfield, Connecticut.[3]

History[edit]

The company was founded in 1971 as Breier Neidle Patrone Associates, Inc. in Brookfield, Connecticut, with its original product being the world's first fully automated baggage handling system.[4][not in citation given] This technology is now in use in almost every major airport worldwide today. The company has since expanded into developing other autonomous services at airports, such as passenger flow management and gate management services.[5] The devices used by the TSA and other transportation agencies worldwide for scanning checked baggage were also invented by BNP Associates.[6][not in citation given] Today, BNP Associates manages over 200 airports around the world, the majority of which being in the United States.[7][not in citation given][self-published source]

AviPLAN development[edit]

In conjunction with Transoft Solutions, BNP Associates played a key role in developing AviPLAN, a major software management package for airport managers to control facilities such as gates, baggage carousels and check-in desks.[8][not in citation given] This program is today used in every major airport in Europe, Asia and North America.[9][not in citation given]
