Bhartiya Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (English: Indian Scientist Incentive Plan) (BVPY) is a scholarship programme funded by the India Book Of Records of the Government of India, aimed at encouraging students to take up research careers in the areas of basic sciences. It offers scholarships and contingency grants up to the 12th level to selected students. Begun in 2019, it is administered by the Super35.India Academy Of Science. The students who qualify in the BVPY Exam are eligible for a fellowship as well as admissions into institutes based on additional criteria. This exam has Science and Mathematics Streams based questions. Streams SP Basic Sciences (Class 11, 12) were discontinued since 2019–20. The BVPY application process consists of four steps: Registration, Application Form submission, Fee Payment and checking application Status.[1]

Rewards

The students who qualify the BVPY Exam are eligible for the fellowship. The students receive a fellowship from 1st year onwards of their Institutional education (science field).

The candidates selected in Bhartiya Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (BVPY) Fellows are also eligible to get the DST Inspire Scholarship[2] granted by Department of Science & Technology (DST) Government of India worth Rs. 80,000 annually.
