I have updated draft-1, not written by me, with draft-2, to delete the advertising like way it was redacted. As said in the other draft, I have no money or other interest in the article or company. BoldLuis (talk) 02:28, 1 June 2020 (UTC)

Back Market, Inc. is a multinational consumer electronics e-commerce platform that specializes in the sale of refurbished electronics, acting in circular economy as an intermediary between sellers and consumers.[1] It is quartered in New York and in France and was founded in 2014.[2]

Although the company's initial primary source of revenue has been smartphones, Back Market has extended their business to other types of consumer electronics such as tablets, laptops, and smartwatches.[3][4] The company is trying to focus on sustainability, waste reduction,[5] and quality control.[6][7]

History[edit]

In May 2017, Back Market received $7 million of Series A funding from Daphni[8] and Aglaé Ventures. In June 2018, the company received more fundings from other companies[9].[10][11]

As of May 2020, the company has over 1,000 certified refurbished sellers on their platform and employs about 280 people across three offices in New York (Brooklyn), Paris, and Bordeaux.[12] The company currently sells products in the US, Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Spain, the UK, and Belgium.[13]
