The New Funk is the second studio album by american rapper Wild Wes. It's planned to be released on May 24th 2019 by Flex Entertainment on YouTube and sometime later on Spotify. The album has a 1993 theme to it, with titles with the letter z, basslines, and boom bap type beats. The album was fully recorded in Wild Wes' own room in Wilkinson, Indiana.
Upon the release of the album, The New Funk got 4 singles, Sam's Diss, which released on May 10th of 2019, New Funk, which released on May 14th of 2019, We're Just Gettin' Started, which released on May 17th of 2019, and You Know Why, which released on May 22nd of 2019. The album got praise from Sam's Diss, which features Lil Smardy, New Funk, and You Know Why. We're Just Gettin' Started is said to have the worst bassline in the album, if not the worst song on the album.
The album cover features Wild Wes doing his W sign, outside, with a pilots 2009 t-shirt. The album cover was made with Befunky.
The album has several changes, the album wasn't called The New Funk, it was called Mad Funk, but was later changed. It had 18 but was shortened to 14, unless you listen to the Funkadelic Edition, and the album cover was just the words: The New Funk but Wild Wes knew it was too lazy so he got to work on it.
The album cover was revealed in a video.

The album is heavily inspired by the Funkdoobiest album, Which Doobie U B? Writing started on May 10th of 2019 and ended on May 16th of 2019. Production started on May 13th of 2019 and ended on May 16th of 2019. Also, recording started on May 14th of 2019 and ended on May 18th of 2019. The album is set to have bassy production. The Funkadelic Edition Includes 7 New Tracks, a new cover art, and is exclusive to YouTube on May 31st of 2019.
