Sahil Badal (born 5 October 1995), known by his professional name, Badal or Safidon ka chora, is an Indian Singer, rapper, Lyricist, Music composer and producer. He started out as a cover artist and lyricist, and became a hip hop music producer.

Biography

Safidon, a small town in Haryana, isn't known as a breeding ground for musicians. Expecting a young boy hailing from here to grow up and become a Singer and Rap artiste of international calibre was unthinkable. However Sahil Badal (aka Badal – Safidon Ka Chhora) has shattered this myth.

Early life

The lack of a musically inclined family wasn't a barrier for Badal as he chose music over academics. Imitating and mimicking international and local pop stars was a passion. After watching his favourite stars on television, a young Badal started following their work religiously on every available platform on the internet. Badal was particularly drawn by the work of Justin Bieber, Tupac, and Eminem amongst others. The fact that the rapper wrote and composed his own songs drew Badal to the writing board. Badal would write and compose his music though not having undergone any professional training. Trial and error followed. His brother and mother not only supported his artistic passion but invested in Badal too, buying the youngster his first music software. Learning to master the software through R&D, this self-taught artiste then began composing and recording music in his home studio.

Career

It wasn't smooth sailing but determination paid off. From managing a couple of 100 views on his first few cover song videos[1] on YouTube, Badal soon hit the million mark and eventually became a trending artiste. A record deal with BeingU Studios and Sony Music India led to the release of his Spanish, Punjabi and English pop song, ‘Vamos’[2] featuring Raja Kumari with producer Dr Zeus. He later released two singles ‘Trip’[3] and ‘Puro Puro’[4]. His EP ‘Masterpiece’[5] included three romantic tracks, the title song ‘Masterpiece’ along with ‘Love at First Sight’[6] and ‘Ik Vaari’[7]. The songs were successful but something did not feel right to Badal because while he is a pop music aficionado, he is a rapper at heart. He wants his words to weave a web of contrasts while being loyal to the emotions he wants to express, in the style that he knows best. Now with the release of his single ‘Afsos’[8] on TM Music[9], the world will get to hear his hard hitting and poignant lyrics and his angsty vocal style. Though an introvert who prefers to emote through his songs, Badal is a keen observer of human behaviour and raps about the startling realities of life. The ‘Rapper from Safidon’ is all set to go places.
