Badnaseeb (Urdu: بدنصیب, lit. 'Unlucky') is a Pakistani television soap drama serial aired on Hum TV channel.[1][2] It is written by Jahanzeb Qamar and directed by Haseeb Ali.[1][2] The story revolves around the life of young girl who faces hardships in life for being a girl.[3]
Plot[edit]
The plot revolves around Dua and how she is hated by her father just because they were born women. It shows how little girls can be teased by their families and how boys may be more respected than the girls in these traditional families. Dua suffers and is ridiculed by her own father and she is expected to suffer as that is what a good girl does.[4] Dua has a sister named Sila and a brother, Shani whose mother had died, leaving them to be brought up by their father. The father is responsible for constantly ridiculing Dua just because she is a girl and treating his son with much respect by favoring him over his other daughters.[5][6]
