Bahram Afshari (Persian: بهرام افشاری, born 27 May 1987 in Hamadan) is an Iranian TV, cinema, and theater actor.[1][2][3]
His most important role is in the TV series Payetakht as Behtash Fariba. He won the Best Male Comedy Actor award for his role in Payetakht at the Hafez Festival.[4]
Early Career[edit]
Afshari began his amateur theater career in Hamadan in 2003. He initially chose acting as a way to escape everyday life but eventually grew passionate about it. In 2009, he moved to Tehran and joined Hamid Samandarian's acting classes.[5]
This move allowed him to approach professional acting and increase his theater involvement. He has been notably active in the Fajr Theater Festival.
Professional Career[edit]
Afshari's first nomination for the Fajr Theater Festival came at the age of 24. Recently, he directed the play "Hedgehog", which is loosely based on his own life story and received positive reviews.[6]
Afshari's film debut was in June 2013 with I'm Not Angry! directed by Reza Dormishian. He gained significant fame for his role as Behtash Fariba in the TV series Capital in 2018. He also starred in the drama series "Del" in 2019.[7]
He is considered the tallest actor in Iranian cinema.
