History[edit]

Dakshayani

Sati, unable to bear Shiva's censure, sacrificed herself in a skilled Yagya in Satya Yuga. After this, Mahadeva sent Kalabhairava to kill Daksha. With Sati's body, he started the Tandavan dance. As a result, Vishnu split Sati's body into different parts with Sudarshan Chakra. Temples are built where these parts are placed. These are called Shakti Pithas, satipeeth or shaktipeeth. These have become shrines. According to Peethanirnayatantra Tantra, the left arm of the goddess fell on the Bahula. Later this village was named Ketugram after King Chandraketu. King Chandraketu established the stone image of Bahula with Kartika and Ganesha.

Temple[edit]

Puja[edit]
