Bakhshish Singh Sandhu is a politician and activist who has been serving as the 3rd and current President of the Council of Khalistan since 7 October 2017.[1] Council of Khalistan is an organization that supported the establishment of Khalistan, a proposed sovereign Sikh state in South Asia.[2]
After the death of Gurmit Singh Aulakh (Former President of the Council of Khalistan) the advisors of the Council held a meeting at Sikh Cultural Society Gurdwara, Richmond Hill, NY on 7 October 2017 where Sandhu unanimously elected as the next President of the Council of Khalistan.[3]
Sandhu was an internal medicine specialist in Bensalem. Sandhu completed a residency at Bergen Pines County Hospital.[4]
He is a leading figure of the Council of Khalistan and playing a key role in the Khalistan Referendum started by Sikhs for Justice. Due to his Anti‐India activities his travel to India is restricted.[5]
