Bakhtiar Shabani Varaki (in Persian; بختیار شعبانی ورکی) is a Professor of Philosophy of Education[2] at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. He developed the Theory of Para-quantitative in educational research methodology[1] inspired by Václav Polák's operation logic system.[3] His research interests are in philosophy of education, educational research, methodology and neuro-phenomenology of education. He is the coordinator of the Philosophy of Education Division[4] and has served as editor of the journal Foundations of Education[5] since 2003.
Education[edit]
Bakhtiar Shabani Varaki earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, a Master of Arts degree and a PhD in Philosophy of Education from Tarbiat Modares University, and did his post-doctoral research at the College of Education at Michigan State University[6]
Work[edit]
Bakhtiar Shabani Varaki has been a professor in the Department of Education at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad since 1997. In 1999, he founded the journal Foundations of Education and he serves as consulting editor of the Encyclopedia of Educational Philosophy and Theory (EEPAT).[7] He helped to establish the Encyclopedia of Philosophy of Education in 1998,[8] and he was one of the founders, and since 2012, a director of the Philosophy of Education Society of Iran (PESI).[9] He was also the chair of the Department of Education, Deputy Dean and Dean of the Faculty of Education and Psychology,[10] and vice president for research and technology at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.[11]
