Balonmano Ardoi is a handball club located in the town of Zizur Mayor, Spain.[1]. It was founded in 1984.
History[edit]
The first handball team was formed in the years 1984-1985. Initially, it was called Gure Toki Sergrafor[2]. It was founded by Federico Díaz-Guerra, known as Fede.
Díaz-Guerra led the first team, becoming president of the Navarra Federation of Handball. In 2018, coinciding with the Navarra Federation of Handball party, which was held in Zizur Mayor, the club awarded him the appointment of honorary member.[3]
The club's first sponsor was the facilities company ALUFAR.
Teams[edit]
In the 2020-21 season, the Ardoi consisted of 7 teams. The men's team of the Second Men's National and the women's team of the First Women's National stand out. It also has youth, cadet, male and female children's teams, and the mixed pre-alevin category.
Playing field[edit]
Ardoi plays its home games at the Zizur Mayor Sports Center.
Achievements[edit]
In 2018, the children's team achieved first place in the regional classification, after a victory against Helvetia Anaitasuna, obtaining the pass to the sector of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation[4]. The sector, which was played in Zizur Mayor, was attended by the Knet Calasancio, Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto, Urdaneta Handball and Bailén Handball teams. The Ardoi was classified as first in the sector[5][6], achieving the position in the Spanish Children's Championship for Men[7][8]. Ardoi played against iKasa Handball Madrid, against Gijón Jovellanos and against FC Barcelona Handball, losing two goals against the first two, and 17-43 against Barcelona.
In 2021, the cadet team was invited for its second place in the regional league to the sector held in Zaragoza[9]
