BambooHR is a SaaS company based out of Lindon, Utah.[1] The company specializes in web-based HR software solutions.[2]

    History[edit]

BambooHR was founded in 2008 by Ben Peterson and Ryan Sanders.[3][4]

    The Software[edit]

BambooHR software was designed for small and medium-sized businesses to help simplify processes like hiring, onboarding, tracking benefits, and scheduling time off for employees.[5][6][7]

The software suite contains various product offerings with options that include an applicant tracking system, employee self-onboarding software, time-off/vacation tracking software, employee database software, HR reporting software, and payroll software.[8][9][10]

BambooHR also allows for electronic approval of things like compensation changes, electronic signatures, and enhancing performance reviews with apps for both iPhone and Android devices.[11][12][13][14]

Since its start in 2008, BambooHR has been named one of the top 8 company cultures to work for in Utah[15],The Best HR Software of 2017 by PCMag[16], Best Places to Work 2017 by Glassdoor[17], When Work Works Award Winner 2017 by SHRM[18], Best Companies to Work For 2016 by Deseret News[19], Best Companies To Work for 2015 by Utah Business [20][21][22],10 Work Apps to Watch in 2017 by Inc.(magazine).[23]

Their clients include Pinterest, FreshBooks, Squarespace, and many more across 70 countries.[24][25]

    Company Culture[edit]

BambooHR is known for its engaging company culture. It has a strict 40-hour week policy,[26] telling its employees to “stay focused, word hard and then go home.” Their focused heavily on work/life balance, and “No one will be emailing you on weekends or bugging you at 7 p.m. for an urgent deadline.” [27][15][28]

In an interview to Entrepreneur.com, Jake Budge said “We have an incredible company culture, That makes employees sincerely want their friends, family and past co-workers to work here, as well.” [29]

They also have a robust benefits package, which includes paid vacations.[18][30] To encourage employees to use their paid time off, they offer up to $2,000 in reimbursements for expenses like hotel rooms, airfares, meals, and other luxuries that often accompany the kind of trips that employees are reluctant to use their PTO for.[31][32][33]
