Bapa Sitaram (Gujarati:બાપા સીતારામ) also known as Bajrangdas Bapa (Gujarati:બજરંગદસ બાપા) was a Hindu saint from Gujarat, India. He was born in Adhewada Village near Bhavnagar.[1] He is mainly worshipped in Gujarat, however he has performed miracles in different parts of India. One of his temples is located in Bagdana.[2][3] There is a film based on Bapa Sitaram’s life titled “Dukhiya Na Beli Bapa Sitaram”. It was the first Gujarati-language film to be screened in United Kingdom in the city of Leicester.[4]
Life
Bapa Sitaram was born to Haridas Bapu and Shiwar kuwarbai. He was born at Jaanjariya Hanuman Temple in Adhewada. He was first named Bhaktiram and received a 2nd standard education, but he was more engaged in Santwani Bhajan than education. In 1915, he attended Kumbh Mela at Nasik with his Guru Shri Mahant Shri Sitaramdasji where he started his Spiritual journey and was named Bapa Sitaram.[5] In 1941, Bapa came to Bagdana and lived in a small cottage, and then he built an Ashram in Bagdana in 1951.[6]
