Barbara Burton is the British founder and CEO of BehindBras, a social enterprise aimed at supporting and equipping women prison-leavers with skills to start careers in fashion.[1]
Biography[edit]
Burton trained life coach and spent 15 years working in personal development for corporate organisations.[2][non-primary source needed] When she was in her late 50's she went to prison.[2] Here she witnessed the fundamental personal changes which women go through in prisons and when she left she promised to make a change for the "forgotten women" by launching a supportive social venture.[2] She created BehindBras to represent and support these women by providing them with employment and advice on how to find employment opportunities in the fashion industry.[2] BehindBras is a lingerie company which is based in London, UK.
She was mentioned on 100 Women in 2018 for her role in criminal justice.[3][non-primary source needed]
