Barn Coppice is an ancient woodland in Graylands, near Horsham, England. It lies on the flat southern expanse of Graylands, between a scrubland and a field, 300 metres (993 ft) north of the A264 dual carriageway.
The woodland is defined by a low woodbank on three sides, with an inaccessible southern edge. The interior is very irregular, with a large water-filled pit in the centre and numerous other small pits scattered throughout. The presence of the pits is evidence of the historical quarrying of Horsham Stone.[1]
Old brick footings are visible in the south-east corner of the woodland. These remnants relate to agricultural buildings that existed on the site from at least the 1840s.[2]
