Baroda High School, ONGC, abbreviated as BHS ONGC, is a coeducational English medium school serving grades Nursery to 12. It is located in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. It is managed by the Baroda Lions Club Education Trust(BLCET) and follows the Gujarat State Education Board curriculum. The school has 3 separate sections, Morning Section and Afternoon Section for primary (Lower Kindergarten to 8th) and Secondary Section (9th to 12th)[1]. The primary section is privately owned, while the secondary section is government aided. [2] The campus is surrounded by the lush greenery of the ONGC campus [3]
History
Baroda High School, ONGC was established in 1964 by BLCET. It became a full-fledged school up to S.S.C. in the year 1969. The Higher Secondary General Stream was started in the year 1979 and the Higher Secondary Science Stream in 1984.[4]
Structure
The school has 3 different buildings for kindergarten, primary and secondary. It also has various grounds for different sports like hockey and football, including a skating rink, and Table Tennis Room. There are two separate libraries and computer labs for primary and secondary sections. The school also hosts an engineering lab called Atal Tinkering Lab(ATL). There are separate physics, chemistry and biology labs for secondary section students. The kindergarten play area has various slides and playground equipment. There are two courtyards in the school, popularly called "Quadrangle" among the students.

Morning Primary Section
Consists of classes from nursery to 8th. The classes from nursery to upper kindergarten consist of 5 sections namely from A to E, while the classes from 1st to 8th consist of 4 sections from A to D.
Afternoon Primary Section
Consists of classes from nursery to 8th. The classes from nursery to upper kindergarten consist of 3 sections namely from F to H, while the classes from 1st to 8th consist of 2 sections E and F.
Secondary Section
Consists of classes from 9th to 12th.

The primary section of the school is mainly divided into 6 sections, first four (A-D) in morning while the other two (E & F) in afternoon.

Extra Curricular Activity
The school hosts various extra-curricular activities, like-
- Astronomy Club- Started in 2011, Astronomy Club is a student-run club aimed for astronomy enthusiasts among the students. It is primarily for secondary section students from 9th to 12th. It hosts various Intra-School and Inter-School competitions throughout the academic year. The magazine published by the astronomy club is known as "Cosmos". Activities include night sky observations, quizzes, eclipse observation, spectra(inter-school quiz) etc. The astronomy club owns a telescope which is used for observations.[5]
- Gujarati Literature Club(GLC)- Gujarati literature club is a club aimed for secondary section students interested in Gujarati literature. It was started by Mr. Yakub Sheikh along with some students in 2012.
- Sports- There are various sports which students can opt for like hockey, table tennis, judo, gymnastics, football, table tennis, volleyball, archery etc
- Class Activities- Once a week various activities are hosted for students of primary section, including "Best out of Waste", "Poster Making", extempore, "Debate", dance, drama etc
There are also other extracurricular activities like various forms of dances, annual function[6], sports day, Khel Mahakumbh etc.
