Bartosz Ziółko (born 4 March 1980) is a Polish computer scientist, entrepreneur, professor at AGH University of Science and Technology (2019–2020) and co-founder and CEO of Techmo.[1]
Life[edit]
He was born in Krakow, Poland where he attended and finished III Liceum of Jan Kochanowski. He studied Electronics and Telecommunications on AGH University of Science and Technology, where he graduated in 2004. He did his PhD at University of York in 2010 based on a thesis Speech Recognition of Highly Inflective Languages.[2] Afterwards he returned to his alma mater where he was habilitated in 2017 based on a publication series Methods of speech and natural language processing.[3] In 2019 he became AGH professor [4] In 2012 he participated in TOP 500 Innovators programme at Stanford University.[5] He specialises in speech processing and artificial inteligence.
He is an author of over 100 publications, two USPTO and one EPO patents. He lead research which resulted in making Polish speech recognition system applied in several banks, insurance companies, telecommunication and TV providers and other institutions.[6] He was a member of IEEE and ISCA[disambiguation needed] and an organiser of XXII Annual Pacific Voice Conference.[7]
He quit AGH University of Science and Technology in April 2020 to continue his activity in Techmo.[8] From December 2020 he is a NICT visiting researcher at Hokkaido University.[9]
