Base 11 numeral system

The base 11 numeral system has a base of 11. It uses base ten symbols, but X is dek, for 10. 10 is their way of saying 11, or el. Very few like it because 11's factors are 11 and 1, of course, making it hard to count in. During the French Revolution, base-11 was briefly mentioned as a possible basis for the reformed system of measurement, on the grounds that indivisibility was actually advantageous.
