Bastian Harper (born Sebastian Schmidt; January 5, 1973) is a German musician, songwriter and singer.
Biography[edit]
In 2002, Bastian Harper placed 3rd in the Act 2002 of VIVA and BMG in Cologne, Germany (2800 bands participated in the contest)[1] This was followed by the release of the singles "Stranger in my Eyes" and "Horny Night", which were re-released in 2020 in updated versions.[2]
Harper's music genres are essentially pop, house and dance. His songs appear on international record labels such as Kontor Records, EMI Records, Sony Music and Tokabeatz.
From 2005 to 2020, numerous music videos were released, some of which reached chart positions in several European countries.[3]
In April 2019, Harper made a musical comeback. The re-release of his club hit I'm a Freak[4] entered the official dance charts of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as several many other European countries.[5] In February 2020, his song I like it reached the top 10 of the dance charts in Switzerland. His tracks Horny Night[6] and The Record is over![7] reached the official Dance50 [8] and House44 charts of Germany and was subsequently played by radio stations Sunshine live[9] and Radio NRJ.
Other Projects[edit]
Harper writes and produces lounge & ambient tracks as "Submission" The most successful album of this project is "Submission - Aural Float"[10] (2009) which was released on Kontor Records. Releases from this album can be found on numerous international compilations[11]. The music video of the released song "Free"[12] was shown on Spanish TV.
