Bates is an unincorporated community in Teton County, in the U.S. state of Idaho.
History[edit]
The first settlement at Bates was made in 1881.[2] A post office called Bates was established in 1900, and remained in operation until 1920.[3] The community has the name of Thomas George Bates, a pioneer citizen.[2]
