Battle of Dholan
On 28 August 1847 in the village of Dholan, the Albanian army of 1500 men led by Zenel Gjoleka defeated the Ottoman army numbering 5000 soldiers. This battle was part of the Albanian revolt of 1847.

Background
With the start of the Albanian uprising in 1847 and the strong resistance the Albanians showed, the Porte sent a new Ottoman army consisting of 5000 men from Ioannina.
Battle
The battle took place near Lodhan on 28 August of that year, it ended with an Albanian victory of the troops led by Zenel Gjoleka.
Aftermath
Even though a victory, the uprising crumbled soon that year.
