The Great Seljuk Empire was shaken by the throne fights and other internal rebellions, the crusaders landed on the Syrian coast and invaded the Muslim lands. In period, the Georgian state took advantage of the opportunity and attacked the lands of the Great Seljuk Empire. King David with an army of 45,000, first marched on the Caucasus. and drove the Turkmens there to Anatolia. and proceeded as far as the Ganja region. Thereupon, Sultan Muhammed I Tapar with the powerful Seljuk army he sent in 1100.By defeating the Georgians and subduing them, he destroyed some cities.[3][4][5]
