The Battle of Kopystrzyń[lower-alpha 1] was a battle that took place in the village of Kopystyryn, on 8 September 1487, during the Polish–Ottoman War. It was fought between the army of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland led by John I Albert, and the forces of the Crimean Khanate. was won by the Polish side.[1][2]

The battle took place in the village of Kopystyryn, on 8 September 1487, during the Polish–Ottoman War. It was fought between the army of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland led by John I Albert, and the forces of the Crimean Khanate. During the battle, Polish forces were attacked by the chambul of 5000 Tatar soldiers of the Crimean Khanate. In the battle, on the Polish side, fought Rafał Jakub Jarosławski, castellan of Sandomierz. The battle ended with Polish victory, and destruction of Crimean forces, with 1500 Crimean soldiers dying, and many becoming prisoners of war.[1][2]
