Battle of Orlivka
The Russian Armed Forces began shelling Ukrainian positions in the village of Orlivka on 18 March. On 19 March, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were forced to retreat from both Orlivka and Tonenke,[3] leaving those towns to the Russians.
Background
Ukrainian forces withdrew from the village of Lastochkyne near Avdiivka on 26 February 2024.[5] On 29 February, Ukrainian commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrskyi announced that 3rd Assault and 25th Airborne Brigades had pushed Russian troops back from Orlivka, amid Russian offensive operations in the area.[6]
