During the Australian season, he is a captain of the CBR Brave (since 2017), Kubara is also a member of the Australian national team.

Early life and career[edit]

Bayley Kubara began his professional ice hockey career with the Sydney Ice Dogs , for whom he played seven games in the 2015–16 season [2], before moving to the United States and continuing his junior career with the Utah Outliers in the Western States Hockey League [2]. From 2016 to 2022 he played for the CBR Brave [3] in the Australian Ice Hockey League . While with them, he won the AIHL's Rookie of the Year title [4] in 2016 and two Australian championship titles in the form of the Goodall Cup in 2018 and 2022 [5].

After spending the Australian summers with the Utah Outliers from 2016 to 2017 [2], he played with the Philadelphia Junior Flyers [2] of the Eastern Hockey League [2] in the 2017-18 season and then captained the North Carolina Golden Bears [2] in the 2018-19 season , before choosing Albertus Magnus College for the 2019/20 season on scholarship [6]. His first professional season began in Poland at Naprzód Janów [7], where he led his team in scoring as a defenseman with 18 points in 16 games [2]. He returned to the CBR Brave for the 2021/22 [2] season and was named assistant captain [2]. The club won the championship this year for the second time in four years [5]. After the title, he returned to Europe for a second season, this time to Finnish club Karhu HT in Suomi-sarja [8]. The Australian has been under contract with the German fourth division club ECW Sande [1] in the regional ice hockey league since the end of August 2023 .

Internationally[edit]

At junior level, Kubara played for Australia at the 2015 [9] Division IIB U18 World Junior Championship and, after relegation in 2016 [9], in Division IIIA , where he contributed to direct promotion as one of the team captains. At the U20 World Championships, Kubara represented the country three more times in 2016 , 2017 [10] and 2018 [10] , being named Division II assistant captain in 2016 and Division III captain in 2017 [10].

Kubara was most recently a member of the men's national team at the 2023 Division II World Championships in Spain [11]
