Bboyworld
BBoyworld is the first and the biggest independent urban dance community in the world with over 1.4 million subscribers worldwide[1][2][3][4][5]. The platform connects dancers, DJs, MC’s and creative artists with each other, long before social media platforms[6]. Bboyworld was established in 1999 by Erwin Mahroug, a European student and now an entrepreneur and media dance mogul.

International Community[edit]
In 1999 a few weeks after BboyWorld was launched, the platform grew into a community of 25,000 members worldwide. This was the first international community platform were dancers, dj’s, promoters and other artists could interact with each other, exchange information, and share videos[7]. This innovation of communication was so revolutionary that it created a whole new way of promoting and experiencing the culture.
For the first time in history, a person with a group from Japan could connect with somebody in the USA in real time.
The Introduction of Break-dance to a Global audience[edit]
By 2000, bboyworld.com was so famous that everybody in the break-dancing world talked about it. It caught the attention of every promoter, DJ, MC and other artists in the industry. With the collaboration of BboyWorld, events such as IBE, Battle of The Year, Freestyle Session and UK Championships became internationally recognized and captured the attention of the break-dance scene worldwide [8]. This new marketing strategy exposed the breakdancing culture for the first time to a wider worldwide audience. This resulted in more visitors and more sponsorship opportunities for the events.
In 2001, three years after the BboyWorld launch, BboyWorld grew into a solid network of dancers, promoters, and DJs worldwide[9].
BBoy World All Stars[edit]
In 2002, bboyworld.com created the BboyWorld All-Star’s team, inspired by the USA and 1 Street Basketball mix tapes. This team consisted of talented upcoming dancers from all over the United States, giving them an opportunity to travel and compete in Europe and Asia. This inspired brands like Red Bull (Red Bull BCOne All-Star’s Est. 2010) and Monster Energy (MonsterEnergy Bboys Est. 2013) to create their own all-starbreakdance teams and promoting their brand.
Thereafter, organizers started to contact BboyWorld to have their event promoted on the platform.
Collaboration[edit]
BboyWorld promoted and presented events such as IBE, Battle of the year, Freestyle Session, UK championships, OutBreak, Unbreakable, Battle Pro, Bboy Unit, Floor Wars, Burn battle school, Red bull Bc one, R-16 Korea, Taipei BBoy City[10] and Silverback Open Championships. With the collaboration of BboyWorld, events such as International Break-dance Event (IBE), saw an increase in attendance and brand value worldwide[11][12].
