BeBot Chatbot

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

“Bebot” is a chatbot used by governments, airports, train stations and hotels to provide automated customer service using AI/natural language processing technology. Bebot is created by the Japanese company Be-spoke, inc.[1] Bebot users can use their smartphones to ask travel related questions, such as getting assistance in making restaurant reservations, but it has also been adopted by the Japanese government to provide multilingual assistance to non Japanese speaking tourists in case of disasters such as Earthquake or Tsunami.[2].

Tourism in Japan has increased more than any other country in the 2010s, up 234% since 2010[3] with the largest contributor being Chinese tourists. Japan has felt pressure to provide traveller help in English and Chinese, and using automated assistance is helpful.

Bebot services are offered by Narita International Airport[4], Tokyo Station[5], the City of Kyoto and other major tourist destinations in Japan.
