Beau Weevils is a country/southern rock/blues rock/Americana band formed in 2018. The group consists of lead singer, fiddle and guitar player Charlie Daniels, bass player Charlie Hayward from Daniels main band, The Charlie Daniels Band, producer and drummer James Stroud and guitar player Billy Crain, brother of the late Tommy Crain who was a member of the CDB from 1975-1989.

The band’s genesis came from Daniels' and Stroud's desire to work together again. Stroud produced three albums for Daniels/CDB in the late 1980s through 1990, Homesick Heroes, Simple Man and Renegade. The two stayed in touch, often saying they would like to work together again.
“Ever since we went to Abraham Lincoln’s inaugural, we have been looking for a means to an end, a vehicle to get together and do some work because I wanted to work with James and he wanted to work with me,” Daniels said. “We could never find anything to do."
Daniels began writing a song called “Mudcat” with a distinct guitar riff which would define the sound of the project. When he finished writing, he invited Stroud to come and listen to the song, “Stroud proclaimed he was "in." "That song set the style for the rest of the songs I would write, that all lent themselves to being played in the key of E, hence the title," Daniels said.[1]
Recording began in 2018 at Daniels’ Lebanon, TN Twin Pines Studio
The band's first album, "Songs in the Key of E" was released on October 26th, 2019.
An album release party was held at Winners in Nashville, and a music video is scheduled to be released in early March of 2019.
