Begin Capital is a venture capital fund, founded in 2019[1][2][3]. The company is headquartered in London, United Kingdom[2].

Begin Capital invests in early-stage start-ups all across the world, primarily in Europe and the USA. The fund's portfolio is mainly comprised of software companies, marketplaces, and artificial intelligence projects[4].

History[edit]

Begin Capital fund was established in 2019 by Alex Menn and Ruslan Sarkisyan. Currently partners have two funds under management: the first fund is industry-agnostic with a portfolio of 7 companies[4], the second one is with a focus in artificial intelligence[5]. Prior to establishing the fund, Ruslan and Alex have spent more than 10 years in venture capital, finances, and start-ups industries.[5]

The first investment of Begin Capital was the UK-based start-up Mercaux[2]. Along with Mercaux, the fund has invested in such companies as Woom[6], FundraiseUp[5], Vamstar[7], Bulbshare[5], Zadaa[8].

Begin Capital has exited from Samokat in 2020[9].
