Ben-Amun by Isaac Manevitz
Ben-Amun is a New York City-based jewelry company founded by Isaac Manevitz[1]. The brand's most famous piece, "Gold Dangle Ball Cuff", worn by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis back in 1989 to a dinner in the Kennedy Library, sold in a Sotheby's auction for $29,000.[2]
Ben-Amun is credited as a pioneer of the statement-making jewelry movement of the early 1980s[3]. The sole founder and designer, Isaac Manevitz, immigrated to the United States from Egypt in the 1960s[4]. The company is named after the designer's eldest son (Ben), and the King of Egypt (Isaac's homeland) named Tutankhamun. [5]
