Benjamin Poirier
Benjamin Poirier (Born February 13th, 1990 in Vire) is a French Danseur. He is currently dancing as a Corps de Ballet Dancer at the Spanish National Dance Company (Compañía Nacional de Danza).[1] in Madrid.

Early Life[edit]
Benjamin was born in Vire in the region of Normandy, north of France. He studied ballet at the Paris National Opera Ballet School (École De Danse De L'opéra National De Paris) in Nanterre, under the direction of Claude Bessy and Elisabeth Platel and later at the English National Ballet School with Jane Hackett as Director.
Career[edit]
In 2008 he started at the Leipzig Opera Ballet and became a demi-soloist in 2011, dancing in choreographies such as Cinderella (Tankard), Jeunehomme (Scholz), Les Noces (Bigonzetti), Ago (Balanchine) and The Taming of the Shrew (Cranko).
Four years later he joined the Mexico's National Dance Company (Compañía Nacional de Danza) where he performed lead roles in the choreographies La Esmeralda (Burlaka, Medvedev), La Bayadére (Petipa), L´Oiseau de Feu (Béjart) and Giselle (Coralli, Perrot). He also performed in many ballets including Swan Lake (Chalmer), The Nutcracker (Chalmer) and The Sleeping Beauty (Cano).
In 2014 he started dancing with the Spanish National Dance Company (Compañía Nacional de Danza) in Madrid where he's been dancing as corps de ballet in Don Quixote (Martínez) [3], Carmen (Inger) [4], as principal dancer in Suite No.2 Op. 17, III Romance (Scholz) [5] and Artifact Suite (Forsythe)[6]. He's also been performing soloist roles in Enemy in the Figure (Forsythe) [7], Gods and Dogs (Kilián) [8] and Por Vos Muero (Duato) [9]
Throughout his career, Poirier has performed galas and events in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, United States, Italy, France, Spain, Austria, Germany, China and Japan.
