Production
The project was announced in 2015 with Kevin Arbouet attached to direct. It adapts Friðrik Erlingsson’s 1992 novel, Benjamín dúfa (Benjamin the Dove), which previously served as the basis for the 1995 movie of the same name.
Release
Benji the Dove premiered at the 2017 Bentonville Film Festival, an event known for its focus on diversity and inclusion in media.[3] The film was later made available on streaming platforms.
Reception
Family review site Dove.org described the film as “a heartfelt story about friendship and growing up,” awarding it a Dove “Family-Approved” Seal for ages 12 and up.[4]
