History[edit]

Best In The House Tickets' founder, Andrew Wallenstein, began selling tickets in early 2006, very much by chance. He wound up with some extra tickets to a Billy Joel concert he planned to attend in Syracuse, NY, started an auction for the tickets on Ebay, and was surprised to see that they sold for more than the amount he had paid for them. Wallenstein, who holds a degree in Business Management and Marketing from Cornell University, realized that there was a demand for tickets that could not be met by the primary market alone, and began researching the secondary ticket market.

Wallenstein's professional background included management, marketing, sales and customer service experience gained over the years with positions he held at Macy's New York, and Cornell Magazine. The company is located in Ithaca, NY.

In 2007 Best In The House Tickets became a member of The Better Business Bureau. As of January 2012 the company has a Better Business Bureau rating of "A+".[5]

In 2009 the company, recognizing the popularity of sites such as Facebook and Twitter, decided to invest in social media marketing, establishing additional online presences at these sites.

Awards[edit]

In July 2009 Best In The House Tickets won three of the inaugural Ticket Network annual Enterprise Awards. The Enterprise Awards are given for business excellence in the secondary ticketing industry.[6] The company won the first place award for Best Overall Broker Rating for companies with TicketNetwork sales volume under $250,000. They came in second company-wide in the Best Customer Service category. They also received the first place award for the Best Fill-Rate, which was also a company-wide award that did not have a sales volume component. Best In The House Tickets was the only company to win awards in all three categories.[7]

In July 2010 the format of the Enterprise awards changed such that almost all the categories had a volume component associated with them. There were three finalists selected in each category, and a single winner from each category was selected. Best In The House Tickets was named the winner for Best Customer Service, Best Fill-Rate, and Best Overall Broker Rating for companies with TicketNetwork sales volume between $250,000 and $750,000 annually. They were the only company to win more than a single award.[8]

In July 2011 Best In The House Tickets once again won the Best Overall Broker Enterprise Award for brokers with TicketNetwork sales volume between $250,000 and $750,000 annually.[9]
