Kraftly is an Indian e-commerce platform that specializes in the buying and selling of unique products and brands. It is a mobile and online marketplace that targets micro and individual seller communities in India.[1] The company’s headquarter is based out of Saidulajab, Saket, New Delhi.

Kraftly catering to the huge segment of over 50 million ‘homepreneurs’, artisans and flea market sellers in India that offer eclectic products that are available only at an offline setting. Kraftly, incubated by KartRocket, aims to weed out this gap for home-preneurs by rolling out the country’s first mobile C2C platform. Kraftly has 25000 seller base and aiming to reach out to two lakh sellers in the next 12 months.[2] Kraftly acts as complete solution for this segment of people. The company enables individuals, hobby sellers and shop owners to create their own branded micro-shop, list their products and receive payments on the go, all this without the need of any paperwork. The company manages the complete payment and logistics process for each seller, thereby allowing the long tail of small and home sellers to go online. Buyers are able to discover unique products in a personalised manner and directly interact with sellers.

Founded and launched in August 2015,[3] Kraftly has blossomed to become one of the leading e-commerce platforms for unique and hand curated products that encourages and promotes small sellers.[4] The company is the brainchild of Big Foot Retail Solution Pvt. Ltd.

Management[edit]

The main management of the company comprises, Co-founder and CEO, Saahil Goel who is instrumental in facilitating the day-to-day activities of the organization. Saahil’s career spanned working as a systems archtitect, management consultant, project manager and technical analyst at various large companies both in India and the US. Vishesh Khurana as the Director of the company who has an expertise in last mile logistics and e-commerce business. He has co-founded various start-ups, namely Mobiz Infotech and Status Stores. Gautam Kapoor as the Chief Operating Officer of Kartrocket who has experience in logistics, B2B sales, industrial automation. Prior to this, he had been running a large scale industrial products distribution for more than 6 years. Ankit Sood as the Chief Financial Advisor for the company’s Consumer-to-consumer marketplace for homepreneurs. Before this, Ankit had joined CITI as Senior Summer Associate - Investment Banking.[5] He had been the Associate Vice President for Anand Rathi Private Wealth Ltd. from May 2008 – July 2011 and for Avendus Advisors from June 2011 – August 2014. Akshay Gulati as the Chief Business Officer of the start-up.[6] Prior to this, he was the Head of Trade-In at Amazon, UK and previously worked in different roles in Amazon’s retail and marketplace businesses. He has also worked with Smile Group where he was overseeing various portfolio companies. Before his shift to digital commerce, he worked as a management consultant with The Parthenon Group and A.T. Kearney. The organization has recently bagged Gaurav Gupta[7] as its Chief Technology Officer.[8] Gaurav was the CTO at e-commerce firm Freecultr. He has a bachelors in computer science from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, with 13 years of experience in open source application and development. The company has also appointed the associate director of marketing development at Snapdeal, Rajeev Singh as the VP of the seller ecosystem.[9]

Funding[edit]

Delhi based DIY e-commerce platform Kartrocket has raised $2 million (roughly Rs. 13. 4 crores) in funding from a Japanese investor in March, 2016.[10] $6 million funding in new round led by Bertelsmann India Investments (BII), and existing investors, Nirvana Digital India Fund, Nirvana Digital Investment Holding Co. Ltd., 500 Start-Ups and Singapore-based Beenext also participated in the round. Later, the company went ahead and raised another USD 2 million (13.4 crores) from a Japanese investor. With this, the company secured a USD 8 million (53.9 crores) in total funding.[11]

Campaigns and launches[edit]

  • Kraftly has launched ‘InstaKonnect[12]’, a feature for its sellers to connect directly with its buyers, on Instagram.
  • Launched their new campaign - Krafts of India,[13] to support the Indian handicraft[14] ecosystem by providing a platform to small sellers and homepreneurs to enable them to sell their products online.
  • Organised by an e-commerce website Kraftly, 'The Kraftly festival[15]' was held in Mall of India, Noida,[16] showcasing hand-picked products by several entrepreneurs, artists, designers, artisans from all over the country.
  • “The Big Cashback[17]”. An initiative that can help sellers earn 25% extra profits from the orders they get by selling their products on social media channels like Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram through Kraftly.
